 About Mike Levy M.Sc., P.Eng.,
CRM Consultant, Risk Control Engineering with BFL Canada Insurance Michael joined BFL Canada in September 2016 with an engineering background at the post-graduate level. He assisted the service teams in Alberta by utilizing his technical background in placing and servicing various insurance risks. He joined the Risk Control Engineering department in January 2019 where he is now one of the senior consultants on the team. He provides services across the various industry sectors such as Agriculture, Residential, Manufacturing, Forest Product, and Michael’s engineering and risk control experience spans over a wide variety of industries. He has worked on several projects including those in heating ventilation & air conditioning (HVAC), power plants (hydro-electric, cogeneration, solar), and high-speed flame propagation. He dedicated over four years of his career studying, collaborating, and understanding heat transfer properties associated with explosions due to unstable flammable liquids. 
His risk control assessment covers a wide variety of industries in the insurance sector. 

With BFL, Michael is currently responsible for the coordination of risk control engineering services for clients. This includes site risk analysis surveys, marketing report production, code compliance analysis, and coordination with insurance carrier engineering departments. His continued focus is on building quality client relationships, along with delivering accurate, time effective, and valued risk control services and solutions.

Michael graduated from the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary, with a Masters of Science (M.Sc.) degree in mechanical engineering, specializing in high-speed compressible fluid flow, including flammable liquids. He also holds a Bachelor’s of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in mechanical engineering, specializing in heat transfer and thermodynamic applications. He is a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the Alberta Professional Engineering and Geoscience Association (APEGA). In addition, he carries the Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation.
