COF MEMBER EVENT REGISTRATION STEPS

COF MEMBERS:  Please follow these steps to complete your no-charge registration for COF events.

Step 1:  be sure you are logged in to cofsab.ca (www.cofsab.ca) with your username and password.

Step 2:  go to www.cofsab.ca/members-eventbrite-discount-code/ and copy (or write down) the promocode.

Step 3:  click on the ‘Register for Condochat‘ link in the newsletter or event reminder email OR go to the ‘Events‘ tab on the COF website, locate the event you wish to register for and click on the ‘Register Here‘ link.

YOU ARE NOW IN EVENTBRITE ON THE EVENT PAGE

Step 4:  from the Eventbrite event, click on ‘Tickets‘.

Step 5:  click on the ‘Enter promocode‘ link on the left-hand side of the page above ‘Admission’. PLEASE NOTE: If you are using a tablet or mobile, scrolling within the ticketing window may cause the promocode link to disappear from view. To resolve, scroll back up and it will reappear.

Step 6paste (or type) the promocode into the promocode field.

Step 7:  click ‘apply‘.

A message will appear, indicating that a 100% discount has been applied AND the ticket price will have a line through it.

At this point, if you have encountered any issues applying the promocode, please email membership@cofsab.ca and we will manually add you to the event. Please DO NOT proceed further with the registration process.  

Step 8:  click on ‘checkout‘ to complete your no-charge registration.

To add the event to your calendar, click on the ‘Add to Calendar‘ link on the event page in Eventbrite.

Watch for the emails from Eventbrite confirming your registration and ENJOY THE EVENT!

On March 23rd COF Board Members Terry Gibson and Phil Rosenzweig were invited to he Alberta Legislature to be there when the petition that was launched on February 3rd 2023 was tabled in the House. During that session, which turned out to be the last session of the 30th Legislature, NDP MLA for Edmonton-Riverview Lori Sigurdson was able to ask Affordability and Utilities Minister Matt Jones several questions regarding the affordability program which we see as still inherently unfair to many Owners and Tenants in Multi Family buildings.

Is Your Condo Counting Special Resolutions Properly? Bill 19: Changes to Voting Procedures

The predominant concern appears to be that the proposed legislative amendments will create confusion, not clarity, and that passing special resolutions will be made much more difficult and costly in terms of imposing additional administrative requirements. Many of these inquiries have also assumed that calculating the result of a special resolution vote is based on the total number of units in a condominium. As I will explain, this is incorrect.
