  Amazon Key?

  Yesterday I met with an Amazon sales rep. who was going to every condo building in the neighbourhood asking to talk to board members about a system called “Amazon Key” that allows for more secure deliveries. Basically it allows their delivery people to access the building when the recipient isn’t at home so that they can put packages inside instead of leaving it in the entrance vestibule or outside the building door. The system functions using a device installed inside the building intercom panel which allows them to unlock the door wirelessly.

  I suppose this system is meant for buildings that have an old intercom with the in-suite stations for communication with a visitor at the entrance, which is what we have.

  Does anyone have any experience with the “Amazon Key” system? If so, what are the pros and cons and would you recommend it?
