Last week I met with an Amazon sales rep. who was going to every condo building in the neighbourhood asking to talk to board members about a system called “Amazon Key”. Basically it allows for more secure package deliveries by giving their delivery people access the building when the recipient isn’t at home. They can then put packages inside the building instead of leaving them in the entrance vestibule or outside the building door. The system functions using a device installed inside the intercom panel which allows them to unlock the door wirelessly.
I suppose this system is meant for buildings that have an old intercom, the type with in-suite stations for communication with visitors at the entrance, which is what we have.
Does anyone have any experience with “Amazon Key”? If so, what are the pros and cons of this system and would you recommend it?
