    Although the president of the board owns several rental units he does not reside in the building.  We have been living with a decision made that affects our daily living yet he has not experienced any inconvenience.

      Great question.  I agree with the response above.

      Remember the board president is only one vote on the board.  Why not make a motion – make your case and see if you other board members agree with you?

      Did you know that many newer condos in the inner-cities have as many as 50% non-resident owned?

      Some condos face a great deal of complacency and cannot get people to sit on the board.  Landlords might bring a more business-focused perspective which, in my opinion, is frequently not given enough attention by well-meaning boards.
