Roger Beebe here. I have lived in many condos and been on many boards. Some condos pay for board member seminars, others did not. I think condos should as educated boards are better

    Good question Roger.

What qualifications does a condo board member bring to the Board of Directors?

Most condo directors have taken no education to help them do their volunteer work.

At COF, we strongly promote education, and we believe that a progressive board will pay for the education of its members. That could include attending luncheon meetings of condo organizations or condo conventions.

QUESTION: If your board cannot afford to pay for the education of board members or your board members cannot find the time to learn, then how will the condo find the time and resources to correct mistakes when boards make errors because of their lack of education?

Condos are multi-million dollar properties and should be run as businesses.
