Volunteer Help at Condo; Is WCB Needed if Reimbursement with Gift Card
According to Alberta WCB, persons who volunteer at a condo, and are not in paid positions, do not need WCB coverage. We would like to allow owners to do the occasional shovel of the entry, when it snows a lot, or pick up garbage, between times that our landscaping company has not got the job done. If we were to give an honorarium, or a coffee card for this occasional help from volunteers, would this be viewed as payment and therefore would they need WCB.
