The Board of Directors is elected to make decisions for the condo. They are the only decision-making authority. For that matter, no board member has authority as an individual unless the board delegates it.
While we endorse consulting with Owners on many matters, it is totally within the Board’s discretion.
A few boards we know of routinely consult with Owners. Many never do. It is a decision of the Owners/Board.
If you check your bylaws, they will be provision for a Special General Meeting of owners if a percentage (usually 15-25%) of owners requests it. That may be a way to influence the decisions.
Many of us have decided to place our names in nomination for the Board to try to join and improve our Boards. Those of us who decide not to run for the Board must respect their work and accept their decisions.
