Unfortunately, I need to answer your questions with more questions:

    1) what do your condo bylaws say?  What does your survey show? Is the sundeck part of your property or is it common property?

    2) has the Board of Directors approved any rules or policies related to this?

    Comments:

Remember it is probably not your sundeck; it is probably exclusive use common property.

Any change to the outside of a condo would normally require board approval.

It would be unlikely that the condo would assume responsibility for maintenance.

Many people have installed sunroom extensions onto their decks.  That results in a myriad of other questions/issues.

    THANKS for using the FORUM.
