Brent Downey
Corporate Environmental Specialist, Climate and Environment, The City of Calgary
Brent is a Corporate Environmental Specialist with the City of Calgary’s Community Energy Programs team. He has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Guelph and a graduate certificate in Renewable Energy Technology, and he is a registered Project Management Professional and Certified Energy Manager. Brent currently manages BenchmarkYYC, the Downtown Retrofit Challenge, and represents The City in the development of the Emissions Neutral Building Information Exchange.
Mariam Bello, P.Eng.
Corporate Environmental Specialist, Community Energy, The City of Calgary
Mariam is a transportation engineer with passion for sustainable transportation. Her experience in both the public and private sector includes long-range transportation planning for all modes of transportation, design of streets that encourage walking and wheeling, and public transit planning. In her current role with the Climate Mitigation Division at The City of Calgary, Mariam is working to develop programs and resources to support Calgarians in using low-carbon transportation options.
