Miscellaneous
This agreement shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada applicable to agreements made and to be performed in Canada. You agree that any legal action or proceeding between www.cofsab.ca and you for any purpose concerning this agreement or the parties’ obligations hereunder shall be brought exclusively in a provincial court of competent jurisdiction sitting in Canada. Any cause of action or claim you may have with respect to the service must be commenced within one (1) year after the claim or cause of action arises or such claim or cause of action is barred. www.cofsab.ca’s failure to insist upon or enforce strict performance of any provision of this agreement shall not be construed as a waiver of any provision or right. We understand that privacy online is important to users of our Site, especially when conducting business. Personally Identifiable Information about Authorized Users will not be shared with other Authorized Users who wish to evaluate potential transactions with other Authorized Users. Personally Identifiable Information collected by www.cofsab.ca is securely stored and is not accessible to third parties or used by employees or volunteers of www.cofsab.ca except for use as indicated above.
Visitors and Authorized Users may opt out of receiving unsolicited information from or being contacted by us and/or our vendors and affiliated agencies by responding to emails as instructed, or by contacting us at info@cofsab.ca
Cookies may be used for a variety of reasons. We may use Cookies to obtain information about the preferences of our Visitors and the services they select. We also may use Cookies for security purposes to protect our Authorized Users. For example, if an Authorized User is logged on and the site is unused for more than 10 minutes, we may automatically log off the Authorized User.
www.cofsab.ca uses login information for the following purposes, to maintain a control our membership list, membership payments, membership renewal process and payment and renewal payments through third party agents, PayPal. No Personally Identifiable Information is kept on www.cofsab.ca of a users credit card or debit card information other than the amount paid, the date of transaction and the renewal date.
www.cofsab.ca has entered into and will continue to enter into partnerships and other affiliations with a number of vendors. Such vendors may have access to certain Personally Identifiable Information on a need to know basis for evaluating eligibility and providing Authorized Users service. Our privacy policy does not cover their collection or use of this information.
We will disclose Personally Identifiable Information in order to comply with a court order or subpoena or a request from a law enforcement agency to release information. We will also disclose Personally Identifiable Information when reasonably necessary to protect the safety of our Visitors and Authorized Users.
Visitors and Authorized Users may contact us to update Personally Identifiable Information about them or to correct any inaccuracies correcting their account information directly on www.cofsab.ca or by emailing us at membership@cofsab.ca.
We provide Visitors and Authorized Users with a mechanism to delete/deactivate Personally Identifiable Information from the Site’s database by contacting info@cofsab.ca. However, because of backups and records of deletions, it may be impossible to delete a Visitor’s entry without retaining some residual information. An individual who requests to have Personally Identifiable Information deactivated will have this information functionally deleted, and we will not transfer or use Personally Identifiable Information relating to that individual in any way moving forward.
We will let our Visitors and Authorized Users know about changes to our privacy policy by posting such changes on the Site. However, if we are changing our privacy policy in a manner that might cause disclosure of Personally Identifiable Information that a Visitor or Authorized User has previously requested not be disclosed, we will contact such Visitor or Authorized User to allow such Visitor or Authorized User to prevent such disclosure.
