  Brent Downey

  Corporate Environmental Specialist, Climate and Environment, The City of Calgary

  Brent is a Corporate Environmental Specialist with the City of Calgary’s Community Energy Programs team. He has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Guelph and a graduate certificate in Renewable Energy Technology, and he is a registered Project Management Professional and Certified Energy Manager. Brent currently manages BenchmarkYYC, the Downtown Retrofit Challenge, and represents The City in the development of the Emissions Neutral Building Information Exchange.

  

  Mariam Bello, P.Eng.

  Corporate Environmental Specialist, Community Energy, The City of Calgary

  Mariam is a transportation engineer with passion for sustainable transportation. Her experience in both the public and private sector includes long-range transportation planning for all modes of transportation, design of streets that encourage walking and wheeling, and public transit planning. In her current role with the Climate Mitigation Division at The City of Calgary, Mariam is working to develop programs and resources to support Calgarians in using low-carbon transportation options.

At only the age of 19, Ramsey was able to reach the level of becoming a professional soccer player and has used this accomplishment to fuel himself throughout his professional career.Ramsey currently works with SWTCH Energy as Western Canada's business development representative fueling the rapid growth in BC. Ramsey is an avid Tesla EV Owner who once too struggled with not having a reliable source of charging at home or at his workplace. Ramsey, moved to a condo building in Vancouver that provided SWTCH shared EV Chargers for residents use. Since then his experience with his Tesla has been a game changer in terms of convenience and peace of mind of having enough charger for his daily commutes.
  SWTCH was created to effectively manage the complexities of multi-vehicle EV charging at properties both new and old. They have deployed and actively manage thousands of chargers on the SWTCH network across North America, and they are just getting started. SWTCH has found great success in multi-unit residential buildings with their unique load management solutions, turnkey approach, and quality software solution has been a key piece to their success.
