    About the AGM

    The Condo Owners Forum Society of Alberta (COF) invites all members in good standing to attend our Annual General Meeting (AGM). This is an important opportunity to vote on current business and elect new Board of Directors. We encourage all members to participate, either by attending or by submitting a proxy form if you cannot attend.

    Proxy Information

    Should you not be able to attend the meeting and would like to have someone cast your vote, please consider sending your Proxy in to have your voice heard. Proxy forms must either be emailed or received online by 5:00 pm, September 14, 2024. Click here to send your proxy in, if you wish to print the document, please email it to membership@cofsab.ca.

    Agenda Highlights

    1. Call meeting to order
    2. Meeting Notice & Confirmation of Quorum (inclusive of Proxies) in accordance with our Bylaws:

      Quorum

      (a) Attendance in person or by proxy of twenty-five percent (25%) of the voting Members of the Society at the Annual General Meeting constitutes a quorum.

      (b) If within fifteen (15) minutes from the time appointed for a General Meeting, a quorum is not present, the meeting shall stand adjourned for fifteen (15) minutes to allow further Members to attend the meeting. If, after the adjournment of fifteen (15) minutes, a quorum is not present, the people entitled to vote who are present at the meeting shall constitute a quorum.

    COF Board of Directors Nominee Information

    The COF Board is a Working Management Board, all Board members are expected to attend and prepare for monthly Board meetings electronically. As well, each Board member must participate in at least one Team (the Teams are decided upon at the Inaugural meeting each year).

    The Nominee must read Expectations of a COF Director before completing their Nomination form.

    Nominees are required to complete the Acceptance of Nomination form and return it to COF on or before September 14, 2024 @ 5:00 pm, if emailing please send to membership@cofsab.ca

    Guest Speakers

    Kate A.C. Kozowyk
    Kate A.C. Kozowyk

    Kate’s legal practice focuses on professional negligence matters, condominium law, and personal injury matters, including social and commercial host liability. She has appeared at all levels of Court in Alberta, including the Alberta Court of Appeal and has been involved in an Application for Leave to Appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada.

    Kate acts for individuals, boards of directors, property managers, and developers with respect to various condominium matters including insurance claims, bylaw creation and interpretation, bylaw enforcement, and condominium disputes.

    Kendra Barlow
    Kendra Barlow

    Kendra will be working on all aspects of a file over the course of the year, including document review, research, drafting documents, preparing arguments, attending questioning, and making court appearances. Her work will include assisting on Litigation, Insurance, and Condominium files.

    Kendra keeps her composure and focus in challenging situations. Before law school, she completed a double major in psychology and sociology and worked in social services in Calgary. Her move into law was a natural extension of her advocacy work.
