Spring Walkarounds, Professional Assessments, and Understanding Costs: Key Strategies for Effective Maintenance

Our Speaker: Joey Baptie, Vice President Operations of Go West Construction Corp

A seasoned leader with a diverse background in construction, property management, and technology, Joey's career has been marked by his ability to adapt, innovate, and deliver exceptional results.

Joey's journey began in his teenage years, where he honed his hands-on skills working on construction tools. By his early 20s, he transitioned into the technology sector, further expanding his expertise and understanding of modern business operations. In his 30s, Joey made a strategic move into Property Management, where he spent five years managing one of the largest portfolios in the province. During this time, he successfully prepared and executed annual budgets exceeding $10 million, overseeing both residential and commercial properties across multiple sites.

In the past three years, Joey has focused his career on managing Restoration and Capital Improvement construction projects, ranging from $1,000 to over $1 million in value. Specializing in building exteriors, his work includes everything from siding, decks, fences, and roofs to windows, concrete, asphalt, and painting. Joey has developed a strong track record of driving projects to successful completion while ensuring quality, efficiency, and budgetary discipline.

Beyond his professional achievements, Joey is also committed to giving back to his community. He serves as a board member for a local non-profit organization and is the senior head coach for the only Western Canadian basketball program competing on the prestigious Nike Tour in the USA, where he mentors young athletes.

Joey’s unique blend of experience across multiple industries makes him a versatile and dynamic leader, always focused on growth, collaboration, and delivering value to every project he touches.
