Bill 30 introduces key changes that impact condominium corporations, boards, and owners across Alberta. This session will break down the practical implications—what’s new, what boards must do to stay compliant, and how these updates affect everyday condo living. Clear, concise, and geared toward both board members and owners, this discussion will help you navigate the legislative shifts with confidence.

    About Our Speaker: Hugh Willis

Hugh is a lawyer with Willis Law in Edmonton and a frequent speaker on condominium issues across Alberta for organizations such as CCI North Alberta, the Condominium Owners Forum (COF), and the Legal Education Society of Alberta. He is a recipient of the National Distinguished Service Award from the Canadian Condominium Institute and currently serves as President of his condominium corporation Board in the Edmonton area.

Hugh has a longstanding record of pro-bono volunteer service on behalf of the condominium community. He has taken a leading role in representing condominium stakeholders at Government of Alberta stakeholder sessions, contributing to changes in the Condominium Property Act, new home warranty legislation, Human Rights legislation, and other important areas affecting condominium living. He also mentors through the Law Society of Alberta, providing guidance to lawyers with condominium law questions.

As part of his contributions to the Condominium Owners Forum, Hugh is an active supporter of COF Chats, helping to provide education and engagement opportunities for condominium owners, boards, and professionals across Alberta.

Most recently, Hugh was once again selected by his peers to be included in the 2026 Best Lawyers in Canada for corporate and commercial litigation—his sixth consecutive year being recognized.

Outside of practice, Hugh enjoys spending time with his wife, three daughters, and their three dogs
